Faithfulness in Uncertain Times

Faithfulness in Uncertain Times

Series Start Date: June 1, 2025

New Sermon Series starting in June!
In a world that seems to shift with every headline
and upheaval, the call to remain faithful to God
often feels like walking through a storm without a
compass. Yet, the Bible is filled with stories of
people who clung to God in the most uncertain of
times by restoring hope, rebuilding purpose, and
renewing trust in God's promises. As we reflect on
the lives of Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, and Job, we
find not only inspiration, but a blueprint for what
it means to live with faithfulness today.
Faithfulness in uncertain times is not passive, it’s
active, bold, and grounded in hope. Whether we
are rebuilding what’s been lost, facing pushback
for doing what is right, stepping into risk for the
good of others, or simply holding on in the middle
of hardship, we are not alone. God’s faithfulness
carries us, and His Spirit strengthens us to be
faithful in return.
In this series beginning in June we will be looking
to become a people who respond to uncertainty
not with fear, but with unwavering faith in a God
who is always at work restoring, rebuilding, and
redeeming.

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE BEACH BUT YOU SHOULD'VE BEEN IN NENIVEH

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE BEACH BUT YOU SHOULD'VE BEEN IN NENIVEH

Series Start Date: July 7, 2024

During the four Sundays in July, I will be unmasking four valuable messages from the Whale of a Tale of a Minor Prophet: Jonah. These messages will both bless and challenge our hearts with regard to God's unfathomable grace, going beyond the trite understanding often associated with the term 'grace'.

Be amazed at the God of gracious love for his rebellious prophet and for his world.
The book of Jonah reveals to us the depths of God's grace, both to "outsiders" and to "insiders". It shows us God's compassion for the lost and His patience with His wayward people. Together, we will uncover important lessons from Jonah, and come face to face with the greatest revival in history, despite the reluctance of the prophet Jonah.
We will conclude on July 28th with the reality of 'Unwanted Grace', and we'll understand that God's Grace is not only greater than all of our sin; but it encompasses anything and everything that life can throw at us. Four Sundays in July.

I commend the reading of this short story to you before July 7th. Maybe even read it a couple of times. It won't take you 30 minutes, and you'll be better prepared to receive and bestow God's grace in abundance.

        Moved By The Spirit

        Moved By The Spirit

Series Start Date: May 19, 2024

        Dear Mineral Springs,
We are thrilled to invite you to join us for an exciting new sermon series titled "Moved
by the Spirit". This series promises to be a profound exploration of faith, community, and
the unstoppable power of the Holy Spirit. The book of Acts, often referred to as the Acts of the Apostles, is a pivotal text in the
New Testament. It chronicles the early days of the Christian church, beginning with the ascension of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Acts portrays the spread of the Gospel message from Jerusalem to Rome, illustrating the growth of the
early church and the challenges faced by its leaders.

In Acts 1-9, we witness the disciples grappling with the departure of Jesus and the responsibility of continuing his mission. We see the boldness of Peter as he preaches on the day of Pentecost, the miraculous healings performed in the name of Jesus, and the formation of the early Christian community. Throughout this series, we will learn from the examples of the early disciples and how they navigated the complexities of sharing the Gospel in a hostile world. Their experiences are not only inspiring but also instructive for us as we seek to live out our faith in today's world. As we delve into this rich and profound text, we invite you to join us in prayerful reflection, seeking to discern how God might be calling us to be "Moved by the Spirit" in
        our own lives.

We look forward to journeying through Acts 1-9 with you and discovering together the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. See you beginning Pentecost Sunday!

to enter in order to witness the Resurrection.

            Altar'd

            Altar'd

Series Start Date: February 18, 2024

Join us for Lent as we discover how Jesus transforms and heals us through altars!
We want change, but at what cost?
Altars have always represented change. They are the places where sacred space meets
our surrender and leads into authentic spiritual transformation. From the beginning of
time, God’s people have built altars to mark the places where God spoke, gave direction,
or gave his blessing. It is the place where God’s people surrendered offerings to him in
            obedience.
In the New Testament, Jesus became that surrendered offering, but he also became the
place—in his person—for those who were hurting, lost, and who longed to encounter
God. Amid a world filled with chaos and disappointment, pain and death, there is a
promise of restoration and transformation. However, it isn’t found at the end of our lives,
but at the end of ourselves. It is found when we embrace surrender. Will we allow the
Spirit to awaken obedient hearts and minds to the transforming power of a surrendered
            life?
Beginning on Ash Wednesday we will gather to begin a journey together for the 40 days
of Lent. On Sunday mornings we will look during our sermon time at the altars
throughout the scriptures. It is also a great time for you to join a Bible study, Sunday
School. We have a great number of classes that will be offering the study of Altar'd and
would invite you to consider joining them in Lent.

              Encounter Jesus

              Encounter Jesus

Series Start Date: January 14, 2024

Many will write New Year's Resolutions tonight and tomorrow. Some will join the gym or
sign up for meals to be delivered that connect with our health. Others will make
decisions to get their finances in accord with spending less on frivolity and more on
things like saving for family and retirement. Lost many times in these resolutions is the
connection to God. What if instead of making promises we can’t keep we focused more
on the relationship with Jesus. What if instead of saying I am going to lose 60 pounds
we said I am going to connect with God daily for 60 minutes? What if we said, ‘I will
work at a real relationship with Jesus not just a casual encounter that meets when it is
convenient.’ I want to invite you and myself to encounter resolutions and to Encounter
Jesus in the New Year. As we begin a new journey together there is so much to be
thankful for, that we are together, our health, our family, the time we have to work for his
glory. “Encounter Jesus”, is the theme for our 2024 year here at Mineral Springs.
John 17:3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and
Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.

Christmas and Advent are times for us to celebrate the coming of the King Jesus! What a fun and exciting time as we remember the reason for the season and usher in the story of Christmas. This year advent is going to have some fun as we use the backdrop of Christmas Movies for the season to get us into the conversation about Jesus. 'Christmas Movie Night: A Series for Christmas' will give us four chances to see classic stories that point to the greatest story. Many of us will watch these movies every year but perhaps lost in the shuffle is that they point to themes in the actual birth narrative. We will look at child-like faith, angelic messengers, unlikely servants, and the heart of it all. You will know many of these movies and the messages but maybe now looking at them through another lens. Elf, It's A Wonderful Life, The Star, & The Grinch will help to jump us into the conversation about the Greatest Story Ever Told! I hope that you will join us for a fun family series. Series Start Date: May 14, 2023

The book of Romans is considered by many to be the apostle Paul’s greatest written work. A quick count reveals that the word “spirit” appears 22 times in Romans 8. This is the most that word appears in any chapter of the English Bible! Martin Luther said that all Christians should read and memorize Romans daily because it was that important. It was John Wesley whose heart was strangely warmed on Aldersgate listening as someone read Martin Luther's preface to the book of Romans. Many have said the Gospels give us the story of Jesus and that this book gives us what we believe in Jesus. The letter to the Romans is where we will find ourselves as a church beginning May 14th listening to the Spirit guiding us. A new series titled 'A Field Guide for Living: A Study

Series Start Date: May 1, 2022

When you look at the cast of characters that Jesus called to serve in ministry you quickly see that this is an unlikely group of people working with Jesus. In those pairings, Jesus does some incredible work in and through the people he has called. Today the church has 'unlikely pairings' a group of people with diverse backgrounds and ways of looking at the world. Yet the same God that called for the 12 disciples calls forth people like you and me to work collaboratively for change in the world. Without you, there is no church. In this series, we will look at the disciples of Jesus as our backdrop to uncover the move of God in the church. Go to series page
